At Nam Raksa Hospital, we believe that surgery is not just about removing a tumor, but rather a combination of medical science and aesthetic art. This meticulous care ensures that patients are not only safe from disease, but also maintain their beauty, balance, and confidence in their daily lives.

Breast surgery at Namarak Hospital adheres to three key principles in a balanced manner.

  1. Oncological Safety: Complete removal of lesions according to oncological standards.

  2. Aesthetic Outcome: Design the surgery to maintain the shape and balance of the breast.

  3. Quality of Life: Reduce side effects, speed recovery, restore confidence and daily life.

Our team of specialized breast surgeons operates under international medical guidelines and uses state-of-the-art surgical technology to ensure safe, beautiful, and lasting results.

1) Breast Mass Excision

Diagnose/treat both benign and malignant tumors, preserving as much healthy tissue as possible by carefully planning the location and extent from mammograms/ultrasounds in order to

  • Remove the lump completely until there are no cancer cells at the edge of the lump (Free Margin).

  • Reduce unnecessary tissue removal and maintain breast shape

2) Oncoplastic Breast Surgery

Combining cancer surgery with cosmetic surgery techniques in a single operation, it is suitable for patients undergoing breast conservation and wanting to reduce deformity, especially medium- to large-sized lumps or those in positions that affect the shape of the breast.

  • Arrange tissues to be close to nature and balanced.

  • The other breast can be adjusted/resized for symmetry if needed.
Performed by a breast specialist surgeon

3) Preoperative lump localization techniques

Increase accuracy to reduce unnecessary incisions and support breast conservation.

  • Scout Radar (Wireless): Pinpoint location with radar signal.

  • Wire Localization: Embed guide wires to indicate the location of the blocks.

  • Intraoperative Ultrasound: Real-time intraoperative ultrasound

4) Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB)

Specifically assesses the spread of early stage cancer. If no cancer cells are found, it is not necessary to remove all lymph nodes. This reduces the chance of arm swelling and arm numbness from removing too many lymph nodes.

Technology used:

  • Dual Mapping: Combines 1% Isosulfan Blue and Indocyanine Green (ICG) to increase the detection rate of the first lymph node.

  • Targeted Axillary Dissection (TAD) for patients receiving preoperative chemotherapy, in which a Scout Radar is implanted in the target gland and precisely removed under guidance.

5) Minimally Invasive Procedures

A safe, less painful, and quick-recovery option for some benign lumps.

  • Vacuum-Assisted Excision (VAE) : Uses a needle and vacuum suction, small incision ~3–5 mm. Suitable for normal tumors or cases where a large tissue sample is required.

  • Cryoablation (Cryoablation) : Destroys the mass with extreme cold through a needle, creating a small wound. Suitable for fibroadenoma and those who are not suitable for major surgery.

6) Breast cosmetic and reconstructive surgery

(Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery)

Restore body shape and confidence while maintaining therapeutic efficacy in those who have undergone a total mastectomy.
Breast Reconstruction: Immediate or Delayed using

- Silicone (Implant)

- Autologous tissue (Flap)

- ADM sheet provides additional support and stability.

  • Endoscopic-assisted Surgery : Small, visible wounds, reduced tissue injury, and faster recovery.

  • Nipple sparing Mastectomy: A nipple-conserving mastectomy technique that reduces recurrence with nipple irradiation and surgery in high-risk patients.

  • Cosmetic Surgery: Augmentation/Lifting/Reduction for Balance and Personality

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • The choice between breast conservation and total mastectomy depends on the type/size/location of the lump, imaging findings, and the patient's needs. Your surgeon will explain the advantages and limitations of each option.

  • Is there a chance of arm swelling after axillary surgery? It can be greatly reduced when using SLNB/TAD instead of total gland removal in appropriate cases.

  • How long is the recovery period? It varies depending on the procedure. Minor incision procedures usually allow for a quicker return to normal activities.
