2. Screening with 3D digital mammography
The advantages :
- The 3D mammogram is an imaging test that combines multiple breast X-rays to create a three-dimensional picture of the breast.
- Images are electronically generated on a computer monitor, with a high-resolution display of over 5 million pixels. This makes it easier to see subtle differences and abnormalities within the breast tissue and diagnose cancer more accurately.
- Has a lower amount of radiation exposure to the breast than any other conventional X-ray devices.
- Images are captured to digital files instantaneously, and doctors can revise the results in no time.
Steps and Procedures
- The technician will explain the procedures and help you position your posture; each breast will be examined one by one alternately.
- Your breast is gradually pressed against the platform by a clear plastic plate and pressure is applied to create the most accurate imaging.
- If you have a breast implant, you must inform the staff upon making the appointment.
